IRS Authorizes a "Fat Deduction" |

|
|
Those intrepid
medical experts at the Internal Revenue Service have now ruled that obesity
is a disease unto itself, not just a short cut to a heart attack, stroke,
high blood pressure, diabetes, cancer, and most everything else that can
shorten a life span. Therefore, the IRS says it will begin allowing
taxpayers to claim weight loss expenses as a medical deduction.
Apart from
the tax break, the IRS ruling could pave the way for insurance companies and
such government programs as Medicare to offer coverage for obesity
treatments. The key to unlock the IRS deduction door appears to be
"doctor recommendation."
Basically, the IRS
ruling legitimizes being fat! (God bless America where everyone can be a
victim and therefore not responsible for their own health. Somewhere in the
background I hear the AMA laughing)
Holistic health
practitioners who have heretofore avoided implementing weight control
programs for their overweight patients may wish to take a second look. Up to
now, suggesting to your patients that their obesity was the root of many of
their health problems was considered imprudent, impolite, and possibly
insulting. Now that obesity is being considered a disease - and therefore
not the fault of the patient - the holistic practitioner has an open door to
explore this potentially lucrative adjunct to their practice.

The "Muscle Pill" Myth |
 |
|
Once again science
and medicine has come to the rescue of those Americans too lazy to exercise.
In the April 12th issue of the journal Science, Dr. Sanders Williams and
colleagues created a group of mice with genes that made a surplus of a
protein called CaMK which developed mitochondria in muscle cells without
exercise. Mitochondria is responsible for muscle development. This discovery was
widely touted in the media under various banners and headlines such as
"Muscle Pill May Replace Trips to Gym."
Yeah, right!
What these folks seem to have overlooked is that unused muscle is not much
better than lard! Only muscle exertion - physical exercise - can burn fat.
Even if science did eventually develop a "muscle pill" it would be
worthless without that trip to the gym.
I seem to remember other
magic pills, approved by the FDA, for effortless fat reduction. Those magic
pills were called Fen-phen and Redux. Although they were later
determined to be worthless for weight loss, they did cause thousands of
patients to suffer heart valve damage, pulmonary hypertension, and other
serious side effects. With Mother Nature, there is no free lunch!
To learn about a
pill that actually does raise metabolism, burn fat, and stimulate the body
to produce more mitochondria, it is suggested the practitioner read the
research report on
Factor Two: Enerbolic Activator.

Childhood
Obesity
a growing concern |
 |
|
Today, one in five
American teens are overweight and in marginal health according to
Agriculture Secretary Dan Glickman, who called childhood obesity "a
quiet epidemic in American." This trend has become so alarming that the
government intends to investigate obesity and nutrition in young
people.
Our research shows that
Government and Argi-business are the ones responsible for this "quiet
epidemic." Consider the following:
According to the
Center for Science in the Public Interest, more than 240 school districts in
thirty-one states have sold exclusive rights to one of the big three soda
companies to push their products in schools. And what are their featured
products - artificially flavored carbonated sugar water! Vending machines
featuring candy bars and high sodium snacks abound in many schools.
Companies typically pay school districts between $1.50 to as high as $15 per
student for the right to push soda pop and candy in schools!
Big Business has
been successfully brainwashing our children into becoming "junk food
junkies" since the 1970's (which explains why so many young adults are
now obese!)
Question:
Who has the most visited creative
playgrounds in American?
1. School playgrounds
2. McDonalds
3. Community parks
If you guessed our public school
systems or community parks, you lose!
The correct answer is McDonalds, followed by Burger King, followed by
(insert your favorite fast food chain here). Children are taught that high
fat, high sodium, high sugar, low nutritional offerings are "happy
meals." Yum, yum.
What about
breakfast, the most important meal of the day according to many
nutritionists? Here are the sugar percentages of five of the most popular
children's cereals: (1) Cocoa Puffs - 40.7%; (2) Frosted Flakes - 44%; (3)
Fruit Loops - 46.6%; (4) Fruity Pebbles - 55.1%; and (5) Sugar Smacks - 61.3%. (At least
"sugar Smacks" represents honesty in advertising!)
Because so many
children and teenagers eat volumes of fast food, supplementation with
Factor
Seven: Digestin and
Factor Eight: Natura Cleanse is
highly recommended.

how childhood obesity can be controlled, Dr. Marie Grace, N.D., has written

Human
Growth Hormone (HGH)
Fraud in a bottle
|
 |
|
How would you
like to look and feel 10-20 years younger? How about increasing your sexual
potency by 75% Would you like to increase your muscle strength by 88% while
reducing body fat by 72% How about reducing wrinkles by 50%? It's easy. Buy
our Human Growth Hormone Releaser and reverse aging - only $39.95 per
bottle. What a deal!
According to the
Federal Trade Commission, telemarketing fraud - including unsolicited e-mail
like the example above - totals $40 BILLION a year! Not a day goes by that
we don't get spammed with offers for HGH - the "fountain of
youth." The snake oil business is alive and well thanks to millions of
"baby boomers" petrified at the prospect of growing old. Let's cut
through the hype and examine the facts:
HGH, or somatotropin, diminishes with age
but does not contribute to the acceleration of the aging process as the con
artists would have us believe. It diminishes with age primarily because it has
accomplished its purpose - to ensure the growth of the individual to his
full genetic potential. Rather, it is the precursor steroid hormone
DHEA
that diminishes with age and contributes to the aging process.
Somatotropin is
transported by the blood to various body organs. If given orally it is
broken down to its constituent amino acids in the digestive process just
like any other dietary protein.
HGH
is released in pulses during the first phases of sleep. It is also secreted
during weight training and resistance exercises. In short, the only real
HGH releaser is exercise!
The
synthetic version of HGH, known as Protropin, is used for children
who have growth failure and for patients with skeletal growth deficiencies.
It is administered by injection over long term periods and cost thousands of
dollars. Potential side effects from HGH treatments include leukemia,
hypothyroidism, hip and knee pain, headache, nausea, and vomiting, according
to clinical studies published in the New England Journal of
Medicine.
The
strategy for achieving optimal health and longevity is fairly basic.
Identify
the major predicable causes of death and disease and minimize your risk from
them.
