  Fibromyalgia is usually the culprit if your patient experiences chronic widespread pain, accompanied by associated symptoms such as fatigue, headaches, sleep

disturbances, and irritable bowel syndrome (IBS). 

  While the specific causes are unknown, Fibromyalgia is strongly associated with psychological stress and brain chemical disturbances affecting sensory nerve endings.  

  Psychological stress may be caused when the subconscious mind is overwhelmed by repressed emotions such as anger, anxiety, fear, guilt, and shame. Chronic pain may be induced by involuntary muscle tightness, poor diet, and hormonal imbalances. 

  Patients with Fibromyalgia have experienced relief by following a simple regiment similar to the following: 

  (1) Chiropractic treatment.  According to the Journal of Manipulative Physiology Therapy, "Following four weeks of chiropractic treatment, patients with fibromyalgia improved compared with control subjects receiving medication only."

  (2) Eliminate consumption of caffeine, nicotine, alcohol, saturated fats, dairy products and sugar while increasing consumption of raw vegetables, fruits, grains, and fish. 

  (3) Low-intensity exercise. Patients who exercise regularly have been reported to

suffer less severe symptoms then those who do not exercise.

  Last month we alerted you that the government was allowing large meatpacking firms to sell meat contaminated with fecal matter. We thought agri-business and our elected representatives couldn't get more irresponsible and disgusting than that. 

We were wrong!

  The new farm bill recently signed into law permits the sale of livestock so sick they

must be dragged to market. According to the dairy industry, "these "downed animals"

are dairy cows that can be slaughtered for meat after they no longer can produce milk."

How can our government allow such a travesty in this day and age of mad cow disease?

  According to the Associated Press, in the current election cycle, the Dairy Farmers of America's political action committee contributed $400,000 to 15 of the 16 conference committee members who are up for re-election. 

I guess that's our answer! Once again those entrusted to serve the public interest have sold us out to big business.

  Meanwhile, the Israeli Agriculture Ministry stated that the internal organs of all

slaughtered cattle over the age of one year would be destroyed before releasing their

meat to the market to protect Israeli citizens from disease and contamination.

  Until we import Israeli beef, it is suggested the practitioner keep a supply of

  With the Department of Justice's recent detainment of a suspected Al Qaeda

operative who planned to detonate a "dirty bomb" in a major city, a new fad product has come into its own. It is based on the idea of protection against a radioactive attack. 

This new product is Potassium iodide - the Nuke Pill!

  Potassium iodide first became prominent following the Chernobyl disaster.

When nuclear power plants rupture a great amount of radioactive iodine is emitted. Potassium iodide prevents thyroid cancer by shielding the thyroid from radioactive

iodine. It blocks no other type of radiation, and protects no other body part!

  Potassium iodide would only be helpful if a "dirty bomb" used radioactive iodine -

a highly unlikely event - and then only for people close to the explosion. 

  Potassium iodide also has numerous side effects for people with an allergic

reaction to iodine or iodine-containing foods. Taking Potassium iodide during

pregnancy may cause thyroid problems or goiter in newborn infants. It also

passes into breast milk and may cause skin rash and thyroid problems in nursing

babies. In fact, prolonged use of Potassium iodide may be harmful to the thyroid

gland in general. 

  The hustlers pushing this stuff on the Internet are asking an average of $1.00 a pill. Overseas, Potassium iodide pills sell for approximately 6 cents each.

  In a position paper posted on the Scientific American website, 51 top scientists

on aging are warning consumers that anti-aging medicines - such as Human Growth Hormone (HGH) - don't work. 

  The paper states, "Anyone who claims that they can stop or reverse the aging

process is lying - even if they are a doctor. It is not currently possible."

  Similar to the diet industry, anti-aging medicine is an industry intended to make

money for those who are selling these products. We said as much in the

  Despite what the anti-aging gurus are preaching, aging is not a disease, it is

a process intrinsic to every living organism. The human body is a marvelous

piece of equipment. In fact, it's a miracle it lasts as long as it does considering

the abuse we give it. The good news, however, is the human body is designed

and programmed for rejuvenation at any age. 

How is this feat accomplished?

The key to good health and a youthful body is a strong immune system.
